Your next visit is the Bhubing Palace, a Royal Residence built in 1961. After lunch, visit the Center of Handicraft Products of Chiang Mai. Learn and watch the process of manufacturing silk, lacquerware, umbrellas, gems and so on. This is the perfect place to buy some incredible souvenirs that will amaze your family and friends back home. Then, it’s time to return to your hotel. Time at leisure for the rest of the day.
Day 3:
Visit to an Elephant Camp where you can feed and interact with the animals before enjoying a show. You’ll be impressed by the skills of these peaceful giants. They can even paint better than many of us. After the show, you will ride an elephant through the jungle and countryside and then try a traditional oxcart. It’s time to leave the Elephant Camp for a visit of the Chiang Dao cave and its 12 kilometers of galleries, countless stalagmites and stalactites and natural crystal formations. We continue to Thaton, a beautiful little town on the Kok river where we spend the night.
Day 4:
After breakfast, visit to the Wat Thaton temple and its unique crystal Pagoda before heading to the Thanatorn Orange farm and its spectacular 283 hectare orchard, the biggest in Chiang Mai province. Enjoy the marvellous surroundings of orange tree covered hills before leaving for Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle, where Myanmar (Burma), Laos and Thailand meet. Take a boat trip on the Mekong River and enjoy a Beerlao in a little market on the Laotian side. It’s time to drive to Chiang Rai city where you stay overnight.
