Tour Description
Chiang Mai is a culturally-rich area with several landmarks and local spectacles. On this tour, we will take you to the most crucial Chiang Mai temples. You’ll find that these monuments are not just the product of Thai design, but are architectural melting pots of Thai, Lanna, Burmese, Sri Lankan, and Mon techniques. This is the perfect tour for anyone who appreciates the significance of temples or those who seeks out culturally-relevant shrines. You will spend half a day being taken through the beautiful temples of Chiang Mai.
Below are the temples we will visit in Chiang Mai:
WAT PHRA SINGH (only for Join In Tour)
A classic temple featuring both Lanna architecture and traditional Northern Thai designs.
WAT INTRAWAT (Wat Thon Kwain) (Only for Private Tour)
A beautiful old wooden temple featuring Chaturamook Hall , which is unique in the north of Thailand. The traditional Lanna art in this temple is regarded as complete and very valuable.
WAT CHEDI LUANG
Its chedi, or pagoda, is well-known for having been damaged during a tremendous earthquake. Before the natural disaster, the chedi was considered to be the tallest structure in all of Chiang Mai.
WAT UMONG (Only for Private Tour)
Built in 1297, the temple features a replica of Ashok Pillar and is famous for its ancient tunnels and large stupa.
WAT JED YOD (Only for private Tour)
Built in 1453 and designed like a miniature version of Bodh Gaya, Wat Jed Yod is one of the most important temples of Chiang Mai from a historical point of view.
WAT SUAN DOK (only for Join In Tour)
This temple favored the natural environment of Chiang Mai, and was built directly within the flora of a forest grove back in 1373. Nowadays, it is located among the final resting places of previous Thai royals.
WAT CHIANG MAN (Only for Join In tour)
Built in 1296, this temple is the oldest of its kind in all of Chiang Mai. It is styled in the classic Northern Thai architecture, so you can consider this to be a completely traditional Thai temple.
